The Central
Bank of Paraguay (Spanish: Banco Central del Paraguay) is Paraguay's highest
monetary authority in, and the country's governing body in, finances and
economics. Its head office are in Asunción. The bank manages the printing
and minting of the Paraguayan currency, the Guaraní. |

With this
independence, the Central Bank of Paraguay has the full mandate to develop
an efficient and credible, based on the excellence of their values and
talents, recognized nationally and internationally.
Mission of
the Central Bank of Paraguay is to preserve and ensure the stability of the
currency's value, promote efficiency and stability of the financial system
in Paraguay and the Bank shall
uphold core values that are an integral part of its vision, mission and
corporate culture.
In pursuit of this, the Bank
shall perform the following tasks: |

• Maintain the single-digit inflation;
• Maintain a preventive regulation and supervision, continuous and
disciplined financial system;
• Provide and promote a modern payment system, safe and efficient;
• To contribute to the understanding of economic phenomena and
financial and regulatory issues;
• Promote an organizational and institutional culture of excellence
with social responsibility; and
• Develop a comprehensive Risk Management.
In achieving the objectives above, the Bank commits itself to providing
effective support functions through a sound banking and financial control
system, appropriate information system and the development of competent and
qualified staff. |
