				Westpac was established in Samoa in July 1977. It was then known as Pacific Commercial Bank Limited, a joint venture between Westpac Banking Corporation and Bank of Hawaii International Inc. 		Westpac issues Handycards with access to local transaction accounts in branch and via ATM & EFTPOS. This includes Australian Westpac issued Handycards. All major credit cards are accepted by branches only for cash advances and by merchants for purchases. Westpac Bank Samoa offers finance lease that allows Samoa businesses community to finance the purchase of equipment and motor vehicles for business purposes without tying up large amounts of capital.
